Page 1 of 4 Every fact and every truth comes to us through the use of our senses. It is not possible for us to determine the reality or truth of anything without using our senses and our minds! The actual reality, or fact, that we observe is "objective". The word "objective" applies to anything that is actually, physically real or true. That which is, is. Objective reality exists whether we choose to recognize its existence or not. Objective truth exists outside the human mind, and would exist even if no human mind observed or grasped the actuality of its existence! It is not possible, however, for us to know of the existence of anything without using our senses and/or using our mind. When we refer to the use of the senses or the use of the mind, we are refering to a "subjective" process. The mind is real; it is an objective reality. The senses are real; they are an objective reality. However, the manner in which the senses and the mind are used depends upon the individual using them. It is this variable, necessarily individual process that we refer to as "subjective".
