"Freedom is always at risk, and those who forget or who misunderstand the lessons of Liberty will soon lose it."

-- Maximus Libras

Lesson 14 - The Learning Process Print E-mail

This is why the learning process is so vital. For any rational (reasoning) organism, accurate knowledge and opinions are essential for survival and general well-being.

If two infants are exposed to the factual (objective) world, and each of them has slightly different facts to perceive and deal with at the beginning, they will of course tend to reach conclusions and opinions that are somewhat dis-similar.

All through life this process continues. By the time each of us reaches late childhood, we will already be dealing with widely varying views and perspectives as to the nature of reality.

Each view will probably have much the same objective data behind it. However, if the facts subjectively selected vary, and the emphasis given different facts differs in the subjective process of classifying and associating our perceptions, it is predictable that opinions and beliefs will also vary.
