Lesson 18 - The Power to Motivate Print E-mail

Emotion can be defined as an intensity of desire that can be expressed either positively or negatively.

It is possible, even likely, that emotion (desire, want, etc) is contained in every thought that we have. Similarly, it may be impossible for human beings to think at all without the element of desire or want being present in some form or another.

Previously, we examined the learning process, and examined how humans formulate opinions, develop attitudes, reach conclusions, and then take action.

It is unlikely that anyone would ever engage in all the work and effort involved in thinking and acting unless he or she wanted to do it!

Therefore, there must be some very deep and basic want or drive that is at the root of all thinking and doing.
