Lesson 3 - Beyond Real: Exploring the Abstract Print E-mail

 

An abstraction is an idea or concept that we can form in our minds, but which exists outside the realm of matter, physical objects, or physical phenomena.

When we examine abstractions, we use a process that is entirely of the mind or intellect. What we are trying to do is to mentally understand and grasp the fundamental essence of an idea or concept, rather than a physical thing.
