We shall further describe and illustrate a condition of slavery by drawing one circle above the other and including verticle lines to symbolize "ownership".

In the prior illustration, both persons must be seen as free and equal in so far as their basic natures are concerned.  In the above illustration, one person (Owner 1) presumes to own a second person (Owner 2).  This is fundamentally contrary to nature, and will inevitably result in conflict sooner or later.
